I am here to share this super casual look that i love. Most items in this outfit were thrifted from Camden Town market. I absolutely love thrifting. Sometimes it can be a challenge but at the same time you can find your own unique look. Don’t you just hate it when you show up somewhere and 3 other people have the exact same look as you or something similar? With thrifting, there are usually hidden gems that you are less than likely to find another person wearing. Sometimes, however, I get a little bit carried away and buy items that are a little harder to style. Although the beauty of it is that the challenge makes it more fun. Most people are totally against thrifting because they think it involves smelly clothes that people have already worn. Well they are WRONG! Just give it a try and you will see that it doesn’t fit into that stereotype.
First of all i would like to apologize for the pictures as it was my first time taking pictures of myself with a tripod so i need a little more practice #bloggerproblems. Moving on…
The main elements of this look includes a plain black oversized t-shirt, a black bandana and denim jeans which i thrifted and DIY’d.
I absolutely love denim… there is something about it that is so appealing to me. That is why when i saw this baby i just had to have it. I loved the unique plaid patches pasted at the front carelessly and the oversized ‘Mom Jeans’ fit. Originally, when i bought the jeans they were so long that they had to be folded over three times. I saw its potential and decided to cut it to ankle length and destress it to give more of a retro look.
Keeping it casual, i decided to pair this look up with these beautiful plain sandals. Don’t you just love the fringe at the front?
I added the grey drape bag because i’m not entirely a fan of looks that completely match. However the bag is a cool tone that goes well with the Sandals.
Who else is obsessed with mid-rings? I typically wear mid-rings most of the time and i tend to mix the gold and silver ones.
Hope this look as inspired you in some way or even encouraged you try thrifting for once. If you live in London or are just visiting and you would like to try thrifting, I would suggest trying out ‘ROKIT’ in Camden Town. They have awesome stuff. As of Nigeria, I’m not sure yet but maybe you could try out the local markets. I am actually planning to try out a Wuse Market thrift challenge soon. I’ll let you know how that goes hopefully.
For those who are not into thrifting, this look could also be achieved with retail store clothes, possibly with a little DIY.
